Meet Dr. Lisa Duckles

Dr. Lisa Duckles is proud to care for patients at Northside Dental Care in Bellingham, Washington.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Duckles grew up enjoying the state’s famous bagels and pizza. She later moved across the country to pursue her education and dental training.
Dr. Duckles earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from American International College in Massachusetts. While in college, she also played field hockey and lacrosse, balancing academics with athletics.
She then attended Roseman University College of Dental Medicine in Utah, where she received her dental degree. During dental school, she was honored with the Distinguished Professionalism and Ethics Award for her commitment to patient care and professional integrity.
A Journey to Bellingham
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Duckles practiced dentistry in Cape Cod, Massachusetts for three years.
During a visit to see family, she discovered Bellingham, Washington and quickly fell in love with the community and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
In September 2024, she made the move to Bellingham and has been excited to call the area home ever since.
Dr. Duckles is especially happy to work alongside Dr. Eric McRory, who she considers both a mentor and a friend. They were introduced through a mutual dental colleague and quickly recognized their shared dedication to excellent patient care.
Life Outside the Dental Office
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Duckles enjoys exploring everything the Bellingham area has to offer.
She enjoys activities such as:
- Running
- Hiking
- Biking
- Fishing
She also enjoys cheering against the New England Patriots (Go Giants!) and spending time with her wife, dog, and cat.
Living in the Pacific Northwest allows her to enjoy the outdoors while staying active and connected to the community.

Education and Continuing Training
Dr. Duckles believes that great dentists never stop learning.
She spends many hours each year completing continuing education courses to stay up to date with the latest dental techniques and technologies.
She has completed the core curriculum at the Pankey Institute, a respected dental education organization known for advanced training in comprehensive dentistry.
Dr. Duckles is also proud to serve on the Pankey Institute Board of Advisors and continues to attend advanced training courses regularly.
Professional Study Clubs
Dr. Duckles is an active member of two dental study clubs alongside Dr. McRory:
- Pacific Northwest Gnathologic Study Club – focused on complex and comprehensive dental care
- Academy of RV Tucker Study Club – specializing in advanced gold restorations
These study groups allow dentists to share knowledge, improve techniques, and continue learning throughout their careers.
