Fillings
One of the most common dental procedures, fillings are used to restore the structure and function of a tooth when it becomes damaged due to tooth decay (cavities), a small fracture, or other trauma. We provide a number of options for dental fillings, including silver amalgam and tooth-colored composite fillings.
Root Canals
When the soft inner layer of a tooth, called dental pulp, is traumatized by a large cavity, a deep tooth fracture or a major blow to the face, the tooth begins to die. Root canal therapy saves the tooth by removing the diseased pulp tissue, disinfecting the inside of the tooth, and filling the tooth to stop pain and infection from reoccurring. Although patients may be anxious about this procedure, modern root canal therapy can often be pain-free.
Extractions
Also referred to as exodontia, dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Reasons to extract a tooth include severe tooth decay or infection which prevents restoration of the tooth, removal of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth, and removal of permanent teeth for orthodontic treatment.
Dentures
When a patient has missing teeth, dentures, which are supported by the hard and soft tissues in the mouth, can be constructed to replace them. Patients enjoy easier chewing, better speaking ability, and heightened self-confidence. Our office provides full and partial dentures.
Crowns & Bridges
Also known as a fixed partial denture, this dental restoration is permanently joined to the natural teeth surrounding it, filling the gap left by a missing tooth. As with dentures, benefits to patients include better chewing and speaking, as well as a more beautiful smile.
Implants
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root used to support dental restorations to replace a tooth or a group of teeth. They are also used to support crowns, bridges and dentures.
