Tara — Office Manager

A Whatcom County native, Tara grew up in Ferndale, Washington. After attending community college, she trained as a Dental Assistant in Renton. She returned to Bellingham, where she assisted in dental and orthodontist practices for 6 years. During this time, she discovered her passion for running a smooth and efficient front office. At Northside Dental, Tara loves interacting with patients and making each experience a fun and comfortable one.

In her down time, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and her children, ages 9 and 3. Camping trips and travels to Disneyland and Yellowstone are among her favorite memories!

Alvin — Dental Hygienist

A lifetime Washingtonian, Alvin grew up all over Western Washington. After spending 5 years as an Army Ranger, Alvin graduated from Shoreline Dental Hygiene School in 2002. He has been a part of Northside Dental Care’s staff since 2003. Alvin says the most interesting part of his job is hearing other people’s stories and sharing his own — getting to know patients as friends. That, and there’s always something new to learn!

An avid outdoor enthusiast, Alvin goes hiking, mountain biking, and trail running when he can. He also enjoys reading, photography, and travel.

Lori — Dental Hygienist

Lori grew up in North Carolina before experiencing life all over the U.S. and overseas thanks to her husband’s 20-year career in the Air Force. When her husband became an airline pilot, they chose to move to Bellingham so they could live in a beautiful location close to the water.

As a teenager, Lori became interested in dentistry when a new dentist came to town — his “new” technology was amazing! She became a hygienist in 1986 and has since served dentists all over the country (her sister is a hygienist, too!). Lori’s favorite part of her job is helping patients see improvement in their smile. It never gets old! She also enjoys watching how dental technology continues to advance.

Lori enjoys sailing the San Juan Islands and traveling with her husband, in addition to reading, gardening and loving her 2 adorable cats.

Emily — Dental Assistant

After spending her childhood in Wilmington, North Carolina, Emily moved to Bellingham during her freshman year of high school. She graduated from Bellingham Technical College’s Dental Assisting program. At Northside Dental Care, Emily enjoys helping her patients improve their oral health. There are always new people to meet and new techniques to learn, which keeps each day interesting!

Emily spends her free time raising her 3-year-old daughter and spending quality time with family and friends. She also enjoys adding to her shoe collection . . . as often as possible.

Lisa — Dental Assistant

Lisa is a Mixed Martial Arts fighter who teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in her spare time. A fitness buff, she loves spending time in the outdoors — hiking, fishing, cycling. Whenever possible, she brings her dog Bas along for the adventure!

Alicia — Financial Coordinator

Alicia grew up in Seattle and moved to Bellingham with her husband so they could raise their kids in our beautiful community. After attending Evergreen State College, she worked the front office in dental and physical therapy offices for over 10 years. She likes working in the dental field because she knows how critical oral health is to overall health. Helping people get past their phobias so they can take care of their teeth is extremely rewarding. Alicia spends her free time with her favorite people — her husband Brian, and their three kids: Riley, Jesse and Alivia. She also enjoys hiking, kayaking, and being a Zumba® Fitness instructor.
